The Snoop Dogg vampire movie

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco star in "Day Shift," a vampire hunting movie. The movie follows the story of a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

The opening scene of the movie is a bonkers action sequence with Jamie Foxx shotgun blasting the hell out of an old lady who turns out to be a vampire. This then becomes a nuts fight sequence between the two of them that is such a blast. The movie's use of ragdoll physics in its action scenes makes them pop in a way that many other action movies (or blockbusters) do not.

Day Shift is the kind of movie that's so bad it's good. It is obvious what they wanted to do but they failed so badly. It is (page) lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. I still enjoyed it. Perhaps it's because of my love for vampire movies or because I enjoy bad movies. Either way, I had a good time watching Day Shift. While it's not the best movie, it's great fun. This is what I really want in a movie.

Day Shift was an interesting movie. While there's a lot fun action and some interesting characters (the brothers, Seth) there's also a terrible villain and a lot more mediocre characters. Some scenes were missing. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. This makes the characters who are better than others shine even more. The movie is enjoyable overall, but there were some things that could have been done better.

Snoop Dogg was almost forgotten about. He is great in Day Shift. The whole movie is worth it because of him. His character is funny, and he can deliver some amazing lines. More importantly, he just feels so natural in the part. It's almost as if he was meant to do it.
